On a magical Halloween night in 2013, our paths crossed in Chicago. Evan had come into the city with friends to see one of their favorite DJs, while Jessica was out celebrating Halloween with friends at the very same show. Wearing a Prince Purple Rain jacket, Evan spotted Jessica standing on a balcony, partially hidden behind a Batman mask, and decided to strike up a conversation. He was instantly intrigued by the mysterious woman behind the mask.After that night, we stayed in touch despite the distance, with Evan in Minneapolis and Jessica in Chicago. Before long, Evan was making the trip to Chicago about once a month, and we quickly realized we had something special. The following summer, we set off on a 10-day road trip through the Rocky Mountains, Utah, and Montana.Somewhere between the breathtaking views, long drives, and unforgettable adventures, we realized we wanted to build a life together. That fall, Jessica moved to Minnesota, and the rest is history.

Flights

Flying in?

If you’re joining us from out of town, the nearest airport is Minneapolis–Saint Paul International (MSP). It’s about a 10-15 minute drive to St. Paul and roughly 35–40 minutes to Camrose Hill Flower Studio &amp; Farm in Stillwater.

Hotels

Stillwater is a charming and popular weekend destination, so hotels there can fill up quickly and become quite expensive. For that reason, we recommend staying in downtown St. Paul, which has plenty of hotel options and is only about a 20-minute drive to our venue at Camrose Hill Flower Farm.

Evan and I will be staying at the Celeste Hotel of St. Paul, and we highly recommend it for guests seeking a unique and romantic experience. Evan and I also recommend the Drury Plaza Hotel St. Paul Downtown for guests looking for a comfortable stay in a convenient downtown location. Housed in a beautifully restored historic building, it’s within walking distance of restaurants, shops, and many downtown attractions. Parking:Parking is available for $14 per night. There are also several nearby self-park ramps throughout downtown if you prefer. Founded in 1843, Stillwater is one of the oldest towns in the state. Situated right along the St Croix River, and spitting distance from Wisconsin.

Founded in 1897, Como Zoo is a free zoo with lots to offer and excellent animal selection. Conveniently located near St Paul, it's a great way for a family on a budget to spend the day.

A beautiful little park and waterfall in the heart of the city and a short hike from the Mississippi River. This is where the bride met the groom's parents for the first time

Minnehaha Falls

If you're a fan of live theater, this is a can't miss. The most famous theater in Minnesota, and one of it's architectural icons, this stage has played home to numerous luminaries through the years (such as Morgan Freeman, James Earl Jones, David Hyde Pierce, Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart). Little Shop of Horrors will be playing the week of the ceremony, if you feel like catching a show.

Guthrie Theater

A beautiful piece of history. Completed in 1883, this former rail bridge over the Mississippi River near St Anthony Falls, has since been converted into a walking bridge.
